Who says heavy metal can’t be played on cellos?

The Finnish five-piece performed an all-‘tallica double set at the Commodore last night, celebrating their 1996 debut album “Plays Metallica by Four Cellos.”

Fans got a heavy dose of Ride the Lightning, with Apocalyptica performing “Creeping Death,” “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” “Fight Fire with Fire,” “Fade to Black” and “Escape”. Their sets also included “The Unforgiven,” “Sad But True,” and “Wherever I May Roam” off the Black Album; “Harvester of Sorrow” off …And Justice for All; “Welcome Home (Sanitarium),” “Orion,” and “Battery” off Master of Puppets; and “Seek & Destroy” off Kill ‘Em All.
